Chris Davies has ruled Paik Seung-ho and Willum Willumsson out of the Wrexham clash – and Birmingham City are also expected to be without Tomoki Iwata.

Paik, Iwata and Willumsson missed Blues’ last two matches, against Swindon Town and Exeter City, due to injury issues. The trio have been fixtures in Davies’ starting line-up but Blues are preparing to face promotion rivals Wrexham without them.

Asked whether influential midfield men Paik and Iwata have any chance of playing at Wrexham, Davies said: “Paik no and Iwata is very unlikely, just in terms of what he’s been dealing with. Unfortunately sometimes things just need a little bit more time to get better. We’ll see in the next couple of days how they are but Paik absolutely not.”

Iceland international Willumsson complained of some discomfort after Blues’ win over Lincoln City in the FA Cup on January 11. “Willum is still a little way away and not available,” Davies confirmed pre-Wrexham.

It isn’t all doom and gloom for Blues, though. Keshi Anderson, who has been Blues’ most in-form winger this season with five goals and seven assists, is due to return to the squad.

Davies added: “Keshi is much closer. He will be available in some capacity. Obviously he hasn’t done much training in the past few weeks but it’s good to have him back, getting closer to full fitness.”

Blues will also be without Swedish winger Emil Hansson and long-term absentee Lee Buchanan for their trip to the Racecourse Ground.
