Chris Sutton offers Hull City FA Cup prediction as Tigers look to avoid Doncaster Rovers slip-up
Hull City will be aiming to progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday when they host League Two side Doncaster Rovers in a high-noon showdown at the MKM Stadium, and they've been backed to avoid a shock.
The Tigers, who sit 22nd in the Championship, take on Grant McCann's Rovers, themselves occupying the final play-off berth in League Two but just two points off the automatic promotion spots, so congested is the top of the table.
Victory for Ruben Selles' much-improved City side would come as a welcome boost to a team who have won just five times this season, and they will avoid a shock, according to Chris Sutton, and movie star, Billy Bob Thornton - admittedly, a fairly unusual predictor of FA Cup games.

Sutton, who featured on the 1904 Club podcast after the game at Norwich City in October, believes Ruben Selles' side will edge past McCann's men 2-1. Hollywood royalty Thornton has gone one bigger with a 3-1 prediction in City's favour. Either way, both have the Championship club progressing to the fourth round for the first time in five years.
"Hull have got the worst home record in the Championship this season but they have picked up a couple of wins under new manager Ruben Selles and then rescued that late point against Leeds last time out," Sutton said in his BBC predictions.
"Doncaster have Billy Sharp up front for them, who has been such a great goalscorer down the years. He is a wily old fox, but I am backing Hull here."
