Following Sheffield United's move back to the pinnacle of the Championship with a comfortable 2-0 win over Norwich, manager Chris Wilder shared some insights on upcoming transfer activity and match performance. Harrison Burrows netted both goals, pushing the Blades two points clear of Leeds United ahead of their match with Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on Sunday.

Wilder didn't hide his satisfaction with the team's showing, saying: "I thought it was good against a team pretty similar to us, missing some players but on a decent run as well. So a dangerous game for us, some good players, but I thought we got everything right, pretty much. ".

Detailing their tactics, Wilder noted: "The shape of the team out of possession was good. We knew that the two centre-halves would have a lot of the ball and try and build through the goalkeeper, so we had to be disciplined in that."

He praised the defence’s return to form: "We defended really well, back to clean sheets, which is huge for us."

Timing played its role in the victory, as Wilder highlighted: "The timings of the goals were good. To get the first one, second one settled us down and I was delighted in terms of the attitude of the team after that. They looked as if they were really enjoying the afternoon."

Reaffirming their aggressive playstyle, he added: "We never sat back and went 4-5-1 or 5-4-1, whatever it is, and soaked it up. We went hunting and pressed really well for the third, so a good afternoon for us. ".

Bearing a wealth of experience, Wilder remarked: "I’ve managed over a thousand games and nothing’s won in January, but it was a big three points on offer today and to take four points off Norwich, who are well coached with a lot of good players, is a good effort."

Meanwhile, Wilder hinted at Sheffield United's active transfer plans. "We are after five and close on three new signings". he said. as he aims to bolster the squad and maintain their lead at the top the table. "We’ve earned the right to be where we are and we’ve got to enjoy it. We’ve just got to be consistent."
