Chris Wilder shows true colours with Ruben Selles comment after Sheffield United defeat
Chris Wilder praised Hull City and head coach Ruben Selles for their impressive 3-0 win at Sheffield United on Friday night as the Tigers caused a major Championship upset.
Matt Crooks' fine strike inside the opening 10 minutes set City on their way to a memorable Bramall Lane victory, with Matty Jacob and a Harrison Burrows on goal capping a special night in the Steel City.
The Blades rarely threatened the returning Ivor Pandur in the Tigers goal, though they did feel aggrieved that a Tyrese Campbell goal was ruled out of offside minutes before Jacob turned in Cody Drameh's cross just after the hour to effectively kill off the game.

"There'll be a dramatic reaction to this. I'm not trying to be the cleverest football manager on the planet but maybe it's just caught up with us a little bit," Wilder said.
"I've got to say congratulations to Ruben and his side. Getting the first goal was key and then they defended very well. (City were) compact, sat in and made it difficult for us. But we never found that bit of rhythm and connection. The first goal (Matt Crooks after six minutes) is a really poor one from our point of view. It's on the edge of their box, and then they counter, and a fabulous finish gives them the impetus and belief that it's going to be their night.
"Listen, they deserved their victory; they're a good group. They worked hard, they got the first goal which is massive in this division and sat in and tried to counter. They've got pace on the counter with three men in the middle of the park. It was a difficult evening for us but I'm not going to beat the players up over one result.
"We've got to take it on the chin; we've got to take the disappointment of losing a home game on a Friday night with the opportunity of going to the top of the league; it's not a mug league. We've got no given right to just rock up and win a game of football; we have to look at ourselves and say that we've not done enough to win a game of football.
"I did feel before (the game) this would be a great result if we got a big result because of how things have gone over the last six to eight weeks, we're hanging on in there and this one has just hurt us and we have to recover pretty quickly. We've got sixty points, and we're in the mix."
