City boss 'delighted' for Levi Andoh to return to football after recent bereavement
ADAM Hinshelwood had some nice words for Levi Andoh after the defender joined Hereford on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Having initially joined York City from Hereford in the Summer of 2023, Andoh missed a large part of his first season with the Minstermen through injury.
His lack of involvement meant that his last appearance in a York shirt came in August 2023, after playing the entirety of City's opening four matches of the 2023/24 season.
A spinal injury forced Andoh to miss the rest of the season, with the defender taking part in a rehabilitation programme to return to fitness.
Andoh would make the loan move to Darlington at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, making five appearances during a one-month spell, before returning to City.
He would then head out to Truro City to join John Askey's National League South promotion hopefuls, where he again managed another five appearances.
The 24-year-old was confirmed to the be returning to York due to the recent passing of his father, with City allowing Andoh some time to be with his family and grieve.
Speaking on Andoh's move to Hereford, Hinshelwood commented: “It was very sad news and we gave him, rightly so, the time that he needed to be with his family.
"I’m delighted that he can now focus, get regular game time again and get minutes under his belt. It’s a club that he knows well, so I think that’ll really help him as well.
"We wish him nothing but success between now and the end of the season."
