City and league top scorer Ollie Pearce named in Team of the Season so far
OLLIE PEARCE has been named in the National League's Team of the Season so far.
The York City talisman has enjoyed a brilliant debut season at this level so far, registering 15 goals in 22 appearances and becoming the division's leading scorer.
His impressive early impact has earned a spot in the National League's Team of the Season so far, with just shy of half of this season's matches being played, prior to this afternoon's game with Southend United at the LNER Community Stadium (3pm).
After following manager Adam Hinshelwood from the National League South with Worthing, Pearce actually underwent a relatively slow start at York, scoring just once in City's opening five matches of the season, which was from the penalty spot.OLLIE PEARCE has been named in the National League's Team of the Season so far.
Back-to-back goals against Dagenham & Redbridge and then Wealdstone gave Pearce a welcomed confidence boost, before embarking on a relentless run of form in October.
Brace against Ebbsfleet United and Biggleswade FC, alongside strikes versus Barnet and FC Halifax Town, were added to by another brace in November over Hartlepool United.
He continued his hotshot form in November with a sensational hat-trick against play-off hopefuls Yeovil Town, before another two goals against Maidenhead United, and a thunderous effort at Tamworth last weekend.
Pearce's goal record in November earned a Player of the Month accolade for the striker, adding to Hinshelwood's previous back-to-back Manager of the Month awards.
