Chris Gallagher is determined to complete his medal collection with victory over Glentoran in tomorrow night's Co Antrim Shield final. Gallagher lifted the Irish Premiership title with Larne last season to add to his Irish Cup and BetMcLean Cup winners medals from his spells at the Glens and Cliftonville.

The Invermen are eyeing history by becoming the first team to win the Shield five times in a row with 'Cricky' hoping they can get over the line at Seaview to complete his own special set.

"I haven't lifted the Shield yet, so yes it would be nice and that's the plan," said Gallagher. "This will complete the collection and then hopefully doubles and things like that. I want to win every game and every trophy and this is the next one up for grabs.

"It's the first trophy up for grabs and we want to be the team to win the first piece of silverware this year. We are going for five-in-a-row and it's that winning mentality that we've created, which is something we want to continue.

"For us - it's just focusing on the game. Obviously the media creates that buzz around what can be achieved. We just want to win the game and what comes from it comes from it.

"If we can be the team to win the first one this season, then of course we can use it as a springboard. For us, it's game by game and we used that defeat to Limavady as a springboard to refocus on what we want to achieve.

"It gave us a little kick where it hurts and now we can build some sort of momentum that we probably lacked at the start of the season, which was probably down to the European games.

"You were trying to win a game at the weekend and then into Europe where you didn't have much of the ball and then picking yourself up if you were on the wrong end of a result for a game the next weekend. Now that's out of the way and I suppose the Irish Cup, the full focus is on everything else."

Gallagher knows it will be a tough test against a Glentoran side which looks very settled on and off the pitch. "It's very different, you don't see many reports about Glentoran in the media like we've been used to in the past," he said.

"They're going well, found a bit of form and created that culture that was probably needed for a long time. They are going to be the opponent on the night but if we can go to Seaview and implement our game plan, then we will look after ourselves."
