Cole Palmer's Chelsea promise revealed after one-word message as Reece James raises key question
Tosin has revealed that Cole Palmer promised him two pairs of trainers if he scored twice in Chelsea 's FA Cup third round tie against Morecambe.
Fifteen minutes into the match, the central defender came close to a goal after heading a corner onto the crossbar from inside the six-yard box. Christopher Nkunku saw a penalty saved soon after, as it seemed like the Blues would never find a breakthrough.
However, Tosin opened the scoring six minutes before half-time with a deflected strike from the edge of the penalty area after indulging the Stamford Bridge crowd urging him to shoot. That effort only emboldened those in the stands, with Tosin then encouraged to go again at every opportunity.

After receiving the ball again, this time even further out, the 27-year-old barely heard the cries from those around him before taking aim and dragging that shot just wide of the far post. That, though, did not deter the defender.
After Nkunku had doubled the lead in the second half, another opportunity presented itself to Tosin. Renato Veiga dummied a pass inside from Tyrique George to let it run toward his teammate, who again took a touch to set the ball out in front of him before whipping the ball into the back of the net without needing a deflection this time.
After the match, Reece James summed up the surprise those inside Stamford Bridge felt by tagging Tosin in an Instagram story post and asking: "Since when could you shoot?" Cole Palmer also took a photo of his teammate holding the player of the match award inside the home dressing room.
"Abdul," Palmer captioned the post before punctuating it with a clapping hands emoji and a face with tears of joy emoji. Tosin later posted on his Instagram story: "Cole Palmer promised me two pairs of trainers if I scored two goals yesterday. I won't even say what he promised if I scored 3."
