College football scores, results: Clemson caps off championship Saturday with last-second game-winning field goal

Conference championship Saturday is over. Selection Sunday awaits.

No. 15 Arizona State got things started on Saturday with an absolute drubbing of No. 16 Iowa State in the Big 12 title game. Star RB Cam Skattebo had 208 total yards and three touchdowns in a 45-19 Sun Devils win.

Later, No. 5 Georgia fought off No. 2 Texas in an overtime thriller to win the SEC championship, but the Bulldogs may have lost Carson Beck to injury in the process.

In the two night games, No. 1 Oregon took care of No. 3 Penn State in a shootout to win the Big Ten while No. 17 Clemson beat No. 8 SMU on a 56-yard field goal in an ACC title game thriller.

  • CLEMSON WINS IT!!!

    The Tigers have done it! Nolan Hauser booted a 56-yard field goal as time expired to win it and Clemson is in the playoff!

    Adam Randall gave the Tigers a chance by returning the kickoff 41 yards. Cade Klubnik got them in range for the attempt with a 17-yard pass to Antonio Williams. Then the freshman kicker stepped up in the clutch to win it.

    What a finish!

    No. 1 Oregon wins the Big Ten title in its first season as a member of the league! The 13-0 Ducks will surely be the top seed in the playoff. Penn State should still be in great shape to host a first-round playoff game.

    A questionable roughing-the-passer call on SMU kept Clemson's drive alive and then Cade Klubnik found Bryant Wesco Jr. on a deep ball to reclaim a two-possession lead.
