Confirmed: Birmingham City complete third signing of transfer window
Birmingham City have completed their third signing of the transfer window in the form of South Korean left-back Lee Myung-jae.
Lee has signed a six-month contract at Blues after ending his 10-year association with K-League champions Ulsan HD. The defender leaves Ulsan HD having won the last three K-League titles and been named in the league’s best XI in 2024.
Blues manager Chris Davies wanted to sign an alternative to left-back Alex Cochrane after Lee Buchanan’s season-ending injury and Lee is the option the club have selected. The 31-year-old arrives as a fully-fledged South Korea international having earned seven caps since making his debut 12 months ago.

Lee becomes Blues’ third signing of the window after the arrivals of Grant Hanley and Kieran Dowell, with German defender Phil Neumann to join the club on a free transfer from Hannover 96 in the summer.
Davies insisted on signing experienced players in this window and everyone Blues have snared has won trophies before. Hanley has won promotion to the Premier League three times, Dowell has managed it twice and Lee is a three-time K-League winner.
