New contender for Plymouth Argyle head coach vacancy emerges
Austrian coach Miron Muslic has emerged as one of the contenders for the Plymouth Argyle vacancy.
Sky Sports News reporter Mark McAdam posted on X (formerly Twitter) this afternoon that Argyle were set to hold talks in London with 42-year-old Muslic, and Plymouth Live understands that is correct information. Muslic had a successful spell at Belgian Pro League club Cercle Brugge after stepping up from his assistant's role to replace Dominik Thalhammer in September 2022.
He guided Cercle to a fourth place finish out of 16 teams in the Belgian Pro League last season as they clinched European competition qualification for just the fourth time in club history. They progressed to the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League and currently have a record of three wins, two draws and one defeat from their six games.

However, Muslic was dismissed by Cercle at the start of December after a 3-2 league defeat away to bottom-of-the-table Beerschot.
McAdam said on X: "Plymouth Argyle are set to hold talks with Austrian manager Miron Muslic, Sky Sports News understands. It's understood that the Championship side will hold talks in London this week. He is one of a few candidates to the club are considering."
Argyle owner and chairman Simon Hallett issued a lengthy statement earlier today in which he said he was hoping the club would appoint their new head coach 'in the very near future'.
