Ian Holloway said that he always felt confident that Swindon Town would come back to win following their 3-2 victory over Colchester United.

Ollie Clarke's header had given Swindon the lead prior to Jack Payne's brace of penalties either side of half time to have Colchester in the league.

But Swindon came roaring back as Aaron Drinan nipped in to blast the ball under Matt Macey and into the net before George Cox fired home a last-second penalty to give Swindon a massive three points.

Holloway was jubilant about the performance from every player who was involved and said that he always had the faith that they would spring the comeback.

He said: "What a day and what a game - it had everything, didn't it? I knew it would have something driving up today.

"I was delighted with the performance overall and with everything that they did because it was all of them.

"That is the beautiful thing about it, it was all of them and we needed every sub that came on.

"Before you know it we were 2-1 down and their fans were signing a horrible song but our fans were the ones singing at the end, which is nice.

"But I could see it coming and I could feel it coming because the lads won't give in anymore.

"The lads are encouraging each other and whoever came on made a big difference, they are not sulking if they don't start, they understand that I am going to put them one and they are ready for it.

"They are encouraging the lads who are ahead of them and then come on to help them and that is what I wanted.

"With the crowd like that, if they can do what they need to do then the crowd will be behind them and I think that that has proved that today."

Holloway added that he felt that because the Swindon players were fresh having been rotated during the festive fixtures, that had helped them to come on strong towards the end of the game and get the win.

He said: "I have had a headache and took a big risk in the last game but the lads played so well and I have already picked the team for the next game.

"I gave [Gavin] Kilkenny a rest but [Nnamdi] Ofoborh didn't deserve to come out and neither did [Rosaire] Longelo but I knew with Tunmise [Sobowale] that we might need something down that side.

"Honestly, I couldn't have asked for anything more and that is what I want from this group.

"They are looking like a team and they are looking like they are not going to wilt.

"They are not going to get everything right but if they do then it doesn't affect them any more; they are keeping going, working hard, and still believing.

"I think that they are wearing the Swindon shirt like any supporter would be wearing the shirt. They will fight for everything and keep going and I love it."
