Ian Holloway said that Swindon Town would not have been able to play like they did in their 5-1 win over Carlisle United earlier this season.

Swindon continued their rampant run of form as they demolished their supposed relegation rivals on their own patch.

Danny Butterworth scored against his old club to get the party started before Aaron Drinan, Joe Westley, Paul Glatzel, and Will Wright all notched in a miraculous away performance.

Holloway was beaming with how Swindon have managed to turn their season around and pull off such a strong away performance.

He said:  "To be honest, I thought it was a tough one because they started really well and in the first 20 or 30 minutes we didn't get to grips with it.

"Their shape, considering it is such a new team, caused us all sorts of problems and I was a bit worried about it.

"We scored just before halftime which wasn't great for them as it was probably against the run of play.

"I think that the second one was the nail in their coffin, we spoke at halftime about what we needed our frontmen to do and the positioning we talked about got Aaron in.

"They mustered all sorts of things but I am delighted with that, we wouldn't have been able to do that a few months ago.

"The strength on the bench that we have got to bring people on fresh at the end to do that to them on the counter attack when they had a man sent off.

"I am absolutely delighted because we have come an awful long way."

The game was firmly in the balance at the break but Swindon ended up running away with it in the second half once Drinan got them off and running so quickly.

Holloway said that he knew that the game was done as soon as that first goal went in.

He said: "We got the goal at a perfect time and having big Harry [Smith], when people are playing football and concentrating at halftime then it is really difficult when we can play that long ball.

"Our first goal, where did it come from? It was dealing with that because they were so wide open.

"Before that, we didn't break quickly enough and didn't go forward sharply enough to catch them out of shape like we did in the second half.

"It is a great goal but we were fortunate to score it against the run of play and that switched the game around.

"It knocked the stuffing out of them and then we got the quick one in the second half and then the game was done by then.

"I knew we were going to win then because you could see it on them, they are a brand-new team.

"They have changed 11 people and good luck to them but wow, my boys with everybody that I brought on was brilliant and I know they are going to give me that."
