'Of course' - Pep Guardiola gives damning verdict on Man City stars
Pep Guardiola says that Manchester City will have nobody else to blame if they suffer an embarrassing Champions League exit before the knockout rounds.
The Blues won the whole competition in 2023 and have made the last-16 for the past 11 seasons, yet after picking up just one point from their last four matches they must beat Club Brugge at home next week to make it into the top 24 in time for the play-offs. Given their form and another collapse that exposes how hollow their recovery has been, that is anything but a given against a team currently above them in the table.
Guardiola was critical of his players for not keeping the ball against PSG and has no complaints about only having eight points from their opening seven matches. With tough Premier League games coming up starting with Chelsea at home on Sunday, it must be a concern for the players that the manager feels that they struggle against the big teams.

"Of course it is. It’s the points that we had," said Guardiola.
"Today we didn’t deserve it. What's the argument for fair or unfair? PSG played better in their games and couldn’t win. Today they were able to. In the big stages, the big teams, we struggle. We have to accept it. Recover and go to Chelsea. We have to recover our game.
"They were better. We have a last chance against Club Brugge and if we don't go through it's because we don't deserve it. You have to recover players and do it better.
