Coventry City confident of landing Swansea City skipper Matt Grimes as two bids rejected
Coventry City are pressing for a move for Swansea City captain Matt Grimes, WalesOnline understands.
The Sky Blues have already had two bids knocked back, but are understood to be increasingly confident that a deal will get done before the end of the window.
Grimes himself is also believed to be keen on the move, having made more than 300 appearances for the Swans over a near 10-year stint.

The 29-year-old still has two years left on his current deal with the club, which he signed back in 2023, but it now seems unlikely that he will see that contract out. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.
Boss Williams would likely view the prospect of losing the midfielder as an enormous blow to his plans, as he bids to get Swansea's season back on track after a rotten start to 2025.
The Swans have so far slumped to a winless run of six games, and have mustered up just one point in that time.
Grimes has once again been a mainstay for the Swans this season, having played every minute of Swansea's 29 Championship outings so far this term.

The news will likely magnify attention around what has currently been a very difficult window for Swansea, with Burnley loanee Hannes Decroix the only arrival so far, with Azeem Abdualai, Nathan Broome and Andy Fisher all heading out the door already.
The transfer window closes on Monday, February 3, and Swansea will be hoping for some serious movement over the coming days.
Luke Cundle and Ethan Galbraith are among the potential possibilities, while the club are also believed to be pondering a deal for free agent Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
