The 3,000-plus strong Sky Blue Army’s big day out at Sheffield Wednesday was made even more special by the appearance of Coventry City legend Kyle McFadzean.

The Sheffield born and bred defender still lives in the area and couldn’t resist taking in the Sky Blues game, having only been back to the CBS Arena for a game last week with former team-mates Liam Kelly, Gus Hamer and Sam McCallum.

A self-confessed Sheffield United fan, having started his career at Bramall Lane just down the road in the Steel City, the 2-1 Coventry victory - courtesy of two goals from Ellis Simms - was all the sweeter for the player who is currently out with a knee injury after joining Chesterfield from Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window. In a knee brace and unable to play at the minute, the 37-year-old is clearly making the most of his forced time out of the game.

Fadz, who took his young son to Hillsborough on Saturday, sat in the away end with the Coventry fans who revelled in his presence with several renditions of his terrace song from his five outstanding years at City. He mingled with supporters and posed for selfies while clearly enjoying the three points for the club he still holds dear to his heart.
