Coventry City striker Fabio Tavares has joined League One side Burton Albion on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old has been limited to just a few minutes from the bench at Millwall in the Championship and just over an hour in the Carabao Cup win at Bristol City so far for the Sky Blues this season.

Although a regular in the matchday squad, the Portuguese forward has been unable to build on his eye-catching cameo in last season's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium, during which he sustained an injury that hampered his progress for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

Tavares, who joined City from Rochdale in the January transfer window of 2021, is out of contract at the CBS Arena in the summer. He's made 30 appearances in total for the club, scoring four goals.

He joins Burton, managed by new boss Gary Bowyer, who are just outside the relegation places in the third tier of English football but who appear to be back on the up after stringing three wins together in their last three fixtures.
