'It's going to be a great spectacle': Harry Kane leads social media excitement as England prepare for Cricket World Cup final
England and New Zealand will meet at Lord’s on Sunday to compete for their first Cricket World Cup trophy.
Neither side has registered a tournament win since its inception, although both have finished as runners-up.
Indeed, although the last of England’s three final appearances was in 1992, New Zealand will feature in their second consecutive final.
But could it finally be England’s year? After all, World Cup final appearances feel a rarity in the world of men’s sport.

Needless to say both fans and former players are jumping on the bandwagon, expecting another World Cup delivered at Lord’s - following on from England Women’s triumph back in 2017.
England’s Test talisman Stuart Broad led the excitement, claiming both teams’ brands of of cricket deserved a final appearance, while former captain Michael Vaughan left no room for doubt as to who he wanted to win.
We can only assume Ravi Ashwin, India’s spin bowler, woke up in a cold sweat at the thought of a rained-off final, though, as he immediately tweeted upon seeing the rain.
And indeed even England football star Harry Kane took to posting a short video on Twitter.
He tells Eoin Morgan’s men: “Want to wish you all the best for the final, congratulations. Great win against Australia.
“I’ll be watching - go rip it up! All the best.”
Good luck to the @englandcricket lads today! Will be watching straight after training #CricketWorldCup2019 🏏 pic.twitter.com/7emzR5c4IF
