Former Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has released a four-word statement on Instagram after Al-Nassr's 2-2 draw against Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League on Friday night.

Al-Nassr came from behind to clinch a 2-1 lead on the brink of half-time, with five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo on the score-sheet. However, the hosts were reduced to 10 men shortly after the interval and Al-Shabab scored an equaliser in the aftermath.

Since Ronaldo's arrival at the end of 2022, Al-Nassr have finished second in the Saudi Pro League table on two occasions. This season, they are significantly off the pace and are fourth in the table with 24 games played, and they sit 10 points behind leaders and title favourites Al-Ittihad.

Taking to social media after his side's latest disappointing performance - and result - the striker released a blunt statement. "We will keep fighting," he wrote in an Instagram story, along with a graphic of the result.

Although the squad are under-performing following their previous involvement in title races, Ronaldo himself is having an impressive season in terms of numbers. The forward has scored 26 goals, 18 of which have come in the league, while he has also registered four assists for his club in 31 appearances across all competitions.

Ronaldo leads the way as the league's top-scorer, closely followed by his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema on 16. Ex-Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Marcos Leonardo are also on 16 goals for the season so far.

Al-Nassr and Ronaldo will be hoping to to salvage their season in the AFC Champions League. They drew the first leg 0-0 earlier this month, with the home tie set to take place on Monday evening.

They have already been knocked out of the King Cup of Champions - at the last-16 stage - having narrowly lost 1-0 against Al-Taawoun back in October. With their league title hopes diminished, the AFC Champions League remains their last hope of securing silverware for the club this season.
