Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his ambition to own multiple football clubs as he celebrates his 40th birthday.

Despite showing no signs of hanging up his boots and continuing to play for both Portugal and Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo has shared that he doesn't envision a future in coaching or management.

Speaking to Portuguese television station Canal 11, he said: "It doesn’t make a lot of sense to be director of a club. If I can be a club owner, why would I be a manager, sporting director or CEO? ," and added, "That is a dream of mine and I am sure I’ll be a club owner. And I’ll tell you more. I hope to have not just one club, but several clubs."

Ronaldo's aspirations align with those of other football legends like Brazil's Ronaldo, who owns Real Valladolid, and David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami.

French superstar Kylian Mbappe also joined the ranks of player-owners by acquiring a majority stake in Caen last summer.
