CROSFIELDS made a little piece of club history this afternoon and booked themselves an exciting clash with Championship opposition.

Before they welcomed Maryport to Hood Lane today, Soap had not won a game in the Challenge Cup since beating Cottingham Phoenix in 2003 to reach the third round, where they lost to Workington Town.

Now, however, they have another tie with a Cumbrian outfit to look forward to after hammering their visitors 52-0 to book a trip to second-tier outfit Barrow Raiders.

That tie will take place at Barrow’s Craven Park home ground next Saturday, January 25, with the winners of that tie to face either Oldham or Rochdale Mayfield in the third round.
