Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner reflected on a good day at the office after the Eagles claimed three points against Southampton.

Despite falling behind after 15 minutes, Palace played with tenacity in attack for the majority of the affair. Their perseverance paid dividends when Trevoh Chalobah's header and Eberechi Eze's long-range strike ensured three points would remain in South London.

Claiming their third win in six, Glasner was pleased with his side's reaction to falling behind while conceding that they must become more clinical after registering ten shots on target.

“I’m very pleased with the win today because everybody expected that we would win this game. Very often, these games are the most difficult.

“We started very well. Then, all of a sudden, we were 1-0 down with the very first situation in our box.

“Conceding made it more tricky, but the reaction was really brilliant from the team. We played forward and created chances. We missed chances, but we always believed.

“Today we were really dangerous from set-plays – scoring twice.

“The game could have been decided earlier, but that’s been the story of many games this season. We have to work on this. This is what we will try to improve. The players are working really hard for it. Overall, a very important three points.”
