Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner makes transfer admission as Deadline Day looms
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner ‘expects’ his side to make one more signing before the winter transfer window closes on Monday.
Palace targeted two additions at the start of January: a left wing-back and a direct attacker.
With one day left in the window, Palace have secured one of those targets in Romain Esse but remain in the market seeking cover for Tyrick Mitchell.
The South London club are exploring a loan move for Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, while a bid for a centre-back has also been pondered.
TRANSFER LATEST
Speaking after the Eagles’ two-goal victory at Old Trafford, Glasner hinted that Palace would add a left wing-back to the squad before the end of the window.
“We have been talking all week,” Glasner said. “The first thing, I am pleased with is the performance today, and the second is the transfer window closing tomorrow.
“There have been many talks this week because we've had two tough injuries, with Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure missing for the rest of the season.
“In the last two days, my focus has been on the players who could play against Manchester United.
“All the players who were with us today deserved the full focus. Maybe now we can start talking again. I expect one more signing in a position where we maybe have one player playing on his good foot there, so let's see who it will be.”
