Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner reacts to mouthwatering Millwall FA Cup draw
Oliver Glasner acknowledged there will be extra spice added to Crystal Palace’s FA Cup fifth round tie after drawing South London rivals Millwall.
The Eagles bypassed Doncaster on Monday evening with goals from Daniel Munoz and Justin Devenny enough to guarantee a mouthwatering tie against Alex Neil’s Lions.
It will be the first time the two sides have met since 2022 when Crystal Palace knocked Millwall out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory at the Den.
While Glasner could already sense the excitement, he emphasised that his attention is on Saturday’s Premier League clash against Everton.
“I could feel the excitement in the dressing room from all the staff,” the Palace boss revealed.
“It’s important for our fans - it’s a big rivalry. It’s important for all of us. But in a cup competition, it’s an all-or-nothing game.
“It makes this game even bigger than it is. Against any other team, the target and the goal is the same, winning the game and getting into the quarter-final.
“For me personally, it’s too far away. It’s three weeks away and then in five days we play Everton at home.
“My focus now is on the Everton game.”
