Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton suffers setback in recovery from groin surgery
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner disclosed Adam Wharton’s injury setback is related to his groin area and will keep him sidelined for a number of weeks.
The England international had surgery on his groin in November, and the procedure was deemed a success.
However, upon Wharton’s return to training last week, the midfielder suffered a flair-up and was forced to sit out of the sessions in the build-up to the Brighton game.
MORE FROM GLASNER
While Glasner confirmed Wharton’s latest injury struggle agitated his groin area, the Palace boss admitted that it has been difficult to pinpoint the exact issue.
“Adam can’t train at the moment. We think it will take a few weeks to have him available.
“It’s all about this [the groin] area. It's not too easy to say where it is. It’s not how we expected everything to go. It doesn’t look that bad, but it doesn’t look that well. We will see.”
