Crystal Palace reject Southampton loan bid for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

Crystal Palace have rejected an offer from Southampton to take Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan.

Palace are open to sending the young winger out on loan, but only without an option or obligation to buy.

A large number of EFL clubs are interested in taking Rak-Sakyi on loan but Palace will not be rushed into deciding the best option to further the 21-year-old’s career.

Rak-Sakyi has come through the ranks at Palace, having previously been on Chelsea’s books. He cut his teeth in senior football in the 2022/23 season while on loan at Charlton Athletic, scoring 15 goals in 43 Championship appearances.

Former England Under-20s international Rak-Sakyi won Charlton’s player of the season award during his one campaign at the south London club, only to then be used sparingly by Eagles bosses Roy Hodgson and Oliver Glasner during an injury-disrupted season.

Last season, Rak-Sakyi made eight appearances in all competitions for Palace’s senior team, as well as scoring four goals and registering one assist in three matches for the Under-21s.
