Daizen Maeda is IN for Celtic vs Bayern Munich as red card appeal hands Brendan Rodgers major Champions League boost
Daizen Maeda has been given the all clear to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday after Celtic successfully appealed his two-match ban - with the suspension reduced to one game.
Brendan Rodgers had faced going into the Champions League blockbuster without one of his key attackers after he was shown a straight red card against Young Boys and handed an initial two-game ban. He missed the league phase finale against Aston Villa and had been set to miss the first of two encounters with the Bundesliga leaders.
That was a major blow with Maeda one of their players of the season so far, racking up 21 goals – including three in the Champions League already. But they've been successful in an appeal with Maeda's ban reduced to one. And given he has already served it, he's now all clear for Wednesday's first leg.
