Damon Heta laps up his Paddy Power payday as he tells darts fans his first purchase – 'Living that fast life'
Damon Heta timed his run to the Masters quarter-finals after Paddy Power paid-out and he got his Rolex.
The Australian ace revealed on Thursday night he’d been unable at that stage to buy the dream gift he wanted as a present for hitting a nine-darter at the Worlds. Tournament sponsors Paddy Power offered £60,000 to any player who did it as part of their outstanding charity push. But the bookies' money hit the bank on Friday morning and Heta headed straight to the dealership to get his hands on the prize.
Heta’s timing was perfect as he then won a deciding leg against Gerwyn Price and he smiled: “Oh, mate, look, my heart did skip a beat when that left my account. I’ve never purchased something so big, besides a house or a car, but I had to do it because I put it out there, I said things and I’m a man of my word, so I just went for it.

“As soon as that money went in, I was just like: Yep, let’s go to the shop and, sure enough, Milton Keynes had a dealer. I just bought one and that’s how it is! Living that fast life!
“I had breakfast, obviously. I checked the bank account in the morning, it wasn’t in there straight away and then after breakfast, I checked the account and the money was in there. I was like: Alright: I’ll look straight on the internet, where’s the closest dealer? Obviously there’s one in Milton Keynes, let’s go straight there.
“I eyed up a Rolex that I really wanted a few months ago and I seen it. I went in there and they said: Yep, this one’s available for purchase. Let’s get it.”
