Dan Ashworth leaves Man Utd after five months as Jim Ratcliffe 'pivotal' to supremo's jaw-dropping exit
Dan Ashworth has left Manchester United after just FIVE months.
He made the move to Old Trafford on July 1 after an extended period on gardening leave at Newcastle United but less than half a year into his role as sporting director, he has now agreed to part ways with the Red Devils claim the Athletic. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been pivotal in the decision behind the exit of Ashworth, in a move the same publication state will stun staff at the English Premier League giants.
The 53-year-old reported directly to chief executive Omar Berrada with his departure from the club said to be agreed in a meeting with the former Manchester City man. Ashworth was involved in the big summer spending spree at Manchester United which included the arrivals of Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee.
