Daniel Farke can't dodge contract question any longer as Leeds United dragged into transfer saga
Leeds United could yet be forced into a key transfer decision regarding the future of Junior Firpo before the January window closes, according to the latest Spanish reports.
The full-back continues to enjoy his football with Leeds, playing 17 matches in all competitions, yet does so with uncertainty looming over his future. As things stand, Firpo will leave Elland Road in less than five-and-a-half months upon the expiry of his contract.
Asked about the 28-year-old this week, Daniel Farke replied : "Too many matches for that (contract talks) at the moment and also wanted him to concentrate on his rehab then finding his rhythm back.

"January (is) not the time to speak about this. Recruitment is pretty busy. There will be more relaxed times during the season to speak about it."
It seems the question might not be able to be put off any longer though as ABC Sevilla report growing interest from La Liga's Real Betis.
They cite disappointment in previous signings Ricardo Rodriguez and Romain Perraud - both of whom were recruited ahead of Firpo last summer as he had one year remaining on his current Leeds deal. It is said Betis took this stance because they were aware of completing his free arrival this year.
But now, the Spaniards could hasten their plan to the final days of this January transfer window. Once the loan signing of Antony from Manchester United is wrapped up, they intend to target a left back and a striker.
Adding layers to the unfolding drama, Leeds and Betis share a 'good relationship' from their previous negotiations for Marc Roca and Diego Llorente.
Firpo is also a former Betis player himself. The Dominican Republic international started his professional career at the Benito Villamarin Stadium prior to his £15.2m move to Barcelona in 2019.
