Daniel Farke dodges Leeds United contract question as Elland Road uncertainty continues
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke remains relaxed over Junior Firpo's contract situation. The left-back, who recently returned to action following a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, has entered the final six months of his Whites deal.
Firpo has established himself as a key member of Farke's first team squad, racking up 19 appearances this term. When asked if United had spoken to Firpo regarding his future, Farke said: "Too many matches for that (contract talks) at the moment and also wanted him to concentrate on his rehab then finding his rhythm back.
"January (is) not the time to speak about this. Recruitment is pretty busy. There will be more relaxed times during the season to speak about it."

Farke and midfielder Ilia Gruev will be hoping for recalls when United take on Norwich City on Wednesday evening. While Firpo was an unused substitute in the win over Sheffield Wednesday, Gruev featured in the final 20 minutes of the Yorkshire derby as he continues to build up his match sharpness after recovering from knee surgery.
"Every training day is beneficial for them and important for them," acknowledged Farke. "Twenty five or 28 minutes for Ilia were pretty important for him.
"Junior got a few mins in the cup game (Harrogate). After being out for such a long time it’s not easy to be back but they’ve played many, many games. Sam Byram and Jayden Bogle are doing well. It's competition and I like what I’m seeing in training. (They are) Not too far from being able to start again."
