Daniel Farke leaves EFL expert with egg on his face as Leeds United target Sunderland scalp
It is going to take something pretty special to stop the Leeds United juggernaut. It is five months since the Whites last lost a league home match as they prepare to welcome Sunderland to Elland Road.
Tuesday's resounding victory at Watford extended their unbeaten streak to 14 outings. It was a statement win and performance.
But United will be knocked off their perch at the top of the table if Sheffield United win at bottom-of-the-table Luton Town this afternoon. The Blades are in fine form, having won five of their past six matches.

EFL pundit Adrian Clarke has often criticised the Whites' style of play under Daniel Farke. Yet Farke has proven his critics wrong as United are in the driving seat to go up with 14 fixtures left to play.
“I have given [Daniel] Farke a lot of stick in the past for being a one-trick pony”, Clarke said on the What The EFL Podcast.
“But when that trick is working as smoothly and with as much intensity right now, it’s a great trick. And it looks like it will take them all the way to the Premier League.”
United ended the winter transfer window without making any signings. Their lack of activity in the window left many supporters angry and disappointed.
But Shrewsbury boss Gareth Ainsworth told Sky Sports News: “I was asked recently about which team had the best [transfer] window in the Championship and I said Leeds United because they didn’t sign anyone.
“They didn’t need anyone. He [Farke] got it so right in the summer that they’re just clinical. It’s taken a couple of months at the start but they’ve got player after player who can come off the bench and cause problems.”
