Daniel Farke leaves Leeds United transfer door open amid Patrick Bamford injury update
Daniel Farke has refused to rule out the possibility of Leeds United signing a new striker before the transfer window closes. The Whites chief made the admission following their 2-0 win at home to Norwich City.
Farke expects Patrick Bamford to resume full training at the start of February. Bamford has not figured in recent weeks due to a hamstring problem, leaving Farke with Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph as his only striking options.
"I haven't spoken to the sports science team today but looks like it'll last a little bit longer (with Patrick)," Farke told the media. "About two weeks until he's back in team training.

"We have to stay awake, but I do not expect a major setback for Patrick in his recovery. He has an injury CV, but we are not in panic mode. We will monitor his rehab."
For the second match running, United made a fast start as Manor Solomon fired them in front after just 31 seconds. The Tottenham loanee netted for the second time in four days, having shrugged of a minor hamstring complaint. He expertly converted Dan James' low cross to score his third goal in his past eight outings.
Farke said: "Sometimes I have to surprise you. Due to the fact we had three proper nights at home, Solomon had time to recover with Monday to follow this. (I) wanted to send a message this was an important game and we do not underestimate anyone."
Right-back Jayden Bogle almost doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time. His rasping right foot shot forced Angus Gunn into action. Norwich dug deep but lacked quality in the final third.
Solomon turned provider in the 65th minute, with his cross to the back post turned home by James to kill off the Canaries hopes of staging a second half fightback. "It was not our most shiny performance. We did not give them an opportunity all night. Scored an early, important goal. Sometimes you think it's an easy evening after a start like this, but then you perhaps give two per cent less.
"We could and should have scored earlier to make it 2-0. Once that came...we could relax more. It was then a controlled performance."
The result extended the Whites' unbeaten home run to 12 matches. Not since September have they lost at Elland Road. They have now taken 38 points from a possible 45 in front of their own supporters.
Victory ensured United went back to the top of the table after Sheffield United leapfrogged them on Tuesday night with a win over Swansea City away from home.
