Daniel Farke praised Largie Ramazani's impact in Leeds United's home win over Sheffield Wednesday. The winger stepped up off the bench to contribute an assist and a goal as the Whites moved back to the top of the Championship.

It is now back-to-back matches Ramazani has scored in. Whites boss Farke said: "I'm happy and delighted for him. This goal and assist will definitely do him good for his confidence.

"He's a great guy. We have competition in the winger positions."

The hosts made the perfect start, taking the lead in the third minute as Manor Solomon grabbed his fourth goal of the season. The skilful attacker, on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur, fired home after the ball broke kindly to him in the penalty area after James Beadle tried to prevent Brenden Aaronson from getting on the end of a lovely Joe Rothwell pass.

But it was a scrappy contest after the break, with goal-scoring opportunities at a premium. The Whites were forced to wait until the 89th minute to double their advantage as substitute Ramazani drilled an unstoppable left foot shot past Beadle.

Things got even better for United in added on time when Ao Tanaka bagged his second goal in United colours. He cleverly diverted Ramazani's shot into the net to cap a perfect afternoon for Farke's men.

Farke said said: "We expected a tight game. They play with intensity and have a good manager. We expected a complicated game but we deserved to win the game. I was pleased with how switched on we were.

"We scored in the right moments and had many shooting positions. They are a brave side so we had to be switched on. Overall, against a good opponent who were brave and went for it, it was a convincing win. It was a pretty mature performance."

Victory ensured the Whites leapfrogged Sheffield United into top spot. Pascal Struijk (hamstring) and Brenden Aaronson (ankle) will be assessed by the medical team this week.

Farke remains optimistic Struijk will return to action in "three to four weeks" but expects further clarity on his knock later this week. Attacking midfielder Aaronson needed treatment at the end of the first half after receiving a "hit to his ankle" but was able carry on and play the majority of the contest.
