Daniel Farke sent clear Leeds United transfer demand as Joel Piroe point made
Calls to be more active in the January transfer window to further secure Leeds at the top of the Championship table have been refuted by manager Daniel Farke, who would prefer not to risk the team's "perfect unity" and "spirit" - but some Leeds Live readers in the comments section would prefer to see some action all the same after watching their rivals strengthen.
Just over a week remains in the January transfer window, with Farke saying he will "stay awake" for opportunities, but has previously told of his preferred small squad set-up. It has served Leeds well so far this season, but knocking back any transfer rumours has worried some fans.
Earlier in the transfer window, Farke said: "We have a perfect unity and this is why we are the team that has won more points, we don't want to risk that spirit in the group," he said regarding transfer arrivals earlier this month. "That spirit is more important in the crunch-time and as things stand we are the best team in the league at the top. If there is a new injury we will change our plans but, at the moment, we expect a quiet January."

Leeds United keeping their powder dry could benefit them in the long run, says commenter Jimmer65: "As the great man said, no point in signing someone who won't improve the team. What he needed was funds to spend after the first year back in the Premier League, that didn't happen or only limited.
"If we get promoted then that's when the money needs to be available, because looking at the last three to be promoted, they're all on the way back down. There's a huge gulf between the Championship and Premier League and without serious investment in the right players it will be a 12-month visit, even with the right manager and the right team."
Reader Mildlyanarchic adds: "Our fans are impatient and vocal, but our manager will make the best decisions after scrutinising and researching every relevant detail concerning potential signing options - and recent history confirms clubs who make costly mid-season transfer window investments may regret it."
Revielad writes: "It's a bit worrying, but didn't we get Ao Tanaka on the last day of a window? So there's still hope. Prefer to get reinforcements sooner rather than later, though."
Others have less faith in the system, such as Rayrm: "The small squad cost us last season, they were too tired after the last international break, he even said if [Patrick] Bamford had been fit for the run-in we would have gone up. As for new singings disrupting the unity and spirit in the group, that's rubbish.
"Signing one more player, [Emiliano] Buendia for example, would strengthen that spirit, because the players would know he gives us a better chance of promotion. Good managers manage far bigger squads and players full of egos. Another injury after the window closes and we will regret not adding to the squad."
Lufcgjb1991 says: "Only two wins from our final eight games after the stupid March international break is what cost us last season, but not adding to the squad goes along in hand with that, and surely the owners aren't that blind to see that adding that extra bit of quality to the squad to get us over the line?"
Anthony1944 writes: "Still no investment, opponents strengthening their squads for final push, we are STANDING STILL! We need a quality goal-scorer, if [Joe] Piroe is injured, we only have [Mateo] Joseph and he is struggling. We need an [Brenden] Aaronson replacement, a genuine No.10. Lack of strengthening mat cost us a top-two spot, then we have the dreaded play-offs.”
LeeinVan says: "Here we go again, Leeds making all sorts of excuses and reasons for not doing anything, and then realising two hours before closing they need to do something, and panic buy a player who is stapled to the bench."
