Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is in contention with Wembley Stadium to host an upcoming boxing bout between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.

Saudi Arabia boxing organiser Turki Alalshikh confirmed early Wednesday morning that the fight will happen in London this April, but a venue has yet to be confirmed. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium previously hosted world heavyweight title fights in 2021— Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk —and 2022— Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora III —but did not host one in either of the last two years.

Wembley, however, had the last stadium fight in London when Daniel Dubois beat Joshua last September, reputedly in front of a record 96,000 crowd. That was the national stadium's first boxing event since Fury faced Dillian Whyte in April 2023.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who represents Benn, has now told the Mail they are the two possible places his fighter will face Eubank Jr. "We are currently finalising all plans with His Excellency (Alalshikh). We are working through the details and will close with either Tottenham or Wembley."

It is reputed that if the former hosts the event, it will be on 26 April. That is the same day Spurs are due to play Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League.

However, if Tottenham reaches the FA Cup semi-finals, they could instead be playing at Wembley that weekend, so a different date will be required if the fight ends up there. Equally, if Liverpool do and Spurs are out by then, they will unlikely be playing that weekend.

26 April is a week after the club's home match against Nottingham Forest and two weeks before they will be there again when Crystal Palace visit. However, depending on how far Spurs progress in the Europa League, they could be playing the first leg of their semi-final just five days later.
