WARRINGTON Rylands bounced back to winning ways with a home victory on Tuesday evening.

Having suffered back-to-back defeats against Macclesfield and Gainsborough Trinity, Blues got back on track by seeing off Leek Town at Gorsey Lane.

And for that, they had Jake Daniels to thank with the Blackpool loanee scoring superb goals in either half - described as "the two goals of the season" by manager Neil Reynolds - to secure a 2-0 victory.

The result moves Rylands up a place to seventh in the Northern Premier League Premier Division table, six points shy of a play-off spot.

Having made minimal changes to his side in recent weeks, Reynolds was forced to use his squad on Tuesday with the likes of Ben Hardcastle and George Waring unavailable.

However, he was delighted with the way his squad adapted.

"The important thing is we’re back to winning ways," he said.

"We’ve had two really difficult games against Gainsborough and Macclesfield, so it was important we bounced back tonight with a positive performance.

"We got rocked with the news that Ben Hardcastle was unavailable, George Waring went down injured, Dean Furman went down and Alex Kiwomya was touch-and-go.

"We were down to the bare bones but there was full belief in the squad.

"We’ve probably seen the two goals of the season from Jake Daniels, but the overall play was really pleasing.

"We had to be on our mettle but when you need to find a way and you see two goals of that quality, if they were on TV you’d be watching them over and over again."
