Danilo hypes Rangers sidekick Hamza Igamane bromance as Brazilian urges 'patience and time' for new signing
Rangers starlet Hamza Igamane has come bursting out of the blocks recently with three goals in three games - and it's not gone unnoticed by newfound strike partner Danilo, who has urged fans to have 'time and patience' over the Gers' new signings as they start to settle at Ibrox.
Igamane was a surprise inclusion for Rangers' 4-1 win at Nice in the Europa League a week ago, and his brace perked the eyes of Light Blues fans. He's started every game since, but Wednesday night saw a brave move from Philippe Clement, who opted to start both Danilo and Igamane together.
His tactical decision paid off in a 6-0 win, with the duo bagging once each - and a new bromance has sparked into life. Danilo claims that he's been developing his English, as has Igamane - and if they can develop in a similar manner going forward, things will only get better.
Speaking after their win over Derek McInnes' side, Danilo said: “He's a great player. He's been working really hard since he came. That includes the language. It's difficult for him but we try to help him as much as we can.
"Nico [Raskin]’s been speaking with him a lot, because he can speak French. So he's a great guy. Always smiling. Always positive. Even when we were on the bench, we tried to be together, talking a little bit. But now he's learning English, it's been really good. I see a lot of progress. And on the field, I think everybody can see this quality and the connection we have. We’re trying to play together as much as we can, especially in training. I'm really happy for him for what he is achieving right now.
"I've been through that as well. When I came for the first time to Europe, I couldn’t speak English. I was trying to speak Spanish with people that just didn't even know Spanish! But obviously it comes from yourself. It’s about how much you're willing to learn the language, how much you’re willing to put yourselves there to speak with others.
"But obviously, when you're on the field, every language can just be about football. Then your quality speaks for itself and then you know what you can bring. Then you don’t even need to speak the language, you just need the connection that you can train and then play together. Obviously you need time. You need to be patient with yourself.
“But everybody should be patient, because coming from a totally different country, they have no idea what's coming from you. Patience and time, that's the most important thing."
