Darwin Núñez footage emerges after Tottenham game painting Liverpool transfer picture
Darwin Núñez isn’t exactly painting the picture of a player happy at his current club. The striker has done nothing to play down speculation linking him with a move away from Liverpool this summer.
Núñez’s social media activity has attracted plenty of attention following the Reds’ win over Tottenham on Sunday. Fans have spotted that the 24-year-old has deleted nearly all of the pictures of himself at Liverpool from his Instagram account.
The act comes amid ongoing questions over his future at Anfield. The Uruguay international’s recent form has left fans frustrated, with his profligacy in front of goal coming to the fore once again in a run of eight games without a goal.

That form has seen him drop down the pecking order in Jürgen Klopp’s side as we reach the end of the season. Núñez was named as a substitute for the second game in a row against Spurs, and was given just 15 minutes with Liverpool already well on the way to victory.
And yet more evidence of his displeasure has emerged online. A video posted to X (formerly Twitter) shows Núñez heading straight for the tunnel after the full-time whistle, barely lifting his head as he was the first player to make his way off the pitch. It is the latest sign many fans believe points towards a player keen on a transfer exit.
Núñez’s actions come amid reports from Europe suggesting he could be of interest to Barcelona this summer. Spanish outlet Sport claims the striker is on the Catalan club’s radar as a potential long-term heir to Robert Lewandowski.
It wouldn’t be the first time either that Barcelona has been linked with Núñez, with former Liverpool striker Luis Suárez having urged the club to sign his fellow countryman before his move to Benfica.
Liverpool.com says: We have seen this before from Núñez. He was quick to storm down the tunnel at the start of the season when Cody Gakpo was being picked ahead of him.
He managed to claw his way back into the team then, although he seems particularly unhappy this time considering his actions on Instagram. He doesn’t really have anyone to blame but himself for being out of the team though, with his wastefulness in front of goal proving so frustrating.
Fans have generally stayed patient with Núñez during his time at the club, and he looked to have improved massively on last season. That patience is being tested now though, and if he wants to prove a point, he’s going about it the wrong way.
