What Darwin Nunez did in tunnel after Liverpool win vs Brentford as unseen moment emerges
Liverpool match-winner Darwin Nunez seemingly apologised to Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken after his double dragged the Reds over the line on Saturday. The Uruguayan scored twice in stoppage time to move Arne Slot's side six points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
The under-fire forward responded with two important contributions as the Reds kept the pressure on their rivals in the hunt for a 20th top-flight crown in English football. Liverpool played before the Gunners and a draw would've allowed Mikel Arteta's side to claw away at the deficit at the summit.
Nunez's last-gasp brace pushed Liverpool clear, applying pressure on the North London club who subsequently dropped points after squandering a two-goal lead at home to Aston Villa.

In behind-the-scenes footage shared by Liverpool following the game, as well as the joyous celebrations between the players and the travelling Reds, it showed Nunez hijacking a chat between Virgil van Dijk and fellow Dutchman, Flekken, to apologise to the 31-year-old shot-stopper.
The gesture was taken in good faith by the goalkeeper while the Liverpool captain couldn't help laugh at the quip from the 25-year-old.
Nunez was transparent in his struggles at Anfield after scoring just his fourth goal in the Premier League this season. The former Benfica talisman admitted that he is putting extra work in on the training ground to help him out of the "rough patch".
He told Sky Sports: "There are moments that are very difficult for us players - for me, it’s right now, but I never throw the towel in. I always carry on working in training. If I need to stay to train more, I stay, to improve.
"I think the work that I do on the pitch to help the team, to defend as well, I think I’ve always done it well. But I haven’t scored goals and I know people look at that, [because] the striker has to score goals.
"The truth is that I’m going through a rough patch and like I said before, I always stay focused on my job and I’m always going to give everything for Liverpool. It’s really important to keep my head up and to always say: ‘OK, I’ve got to work because I need to improve.’
"And I stay strong with this mentality and with the support of my family and of course the fans, who are incredible."
