Darwin Nunez sends three-word message to Liverpool teammate after social media decision

Darwin Nunez of Liverpool

Darwin Nunez has sent a message to Liverpool teammate Stefan Bajcetic on Instagram.

Nunez's future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks. The striker has started just one of Liverpool's last four Premier League fixtures and has had to settle for cameos in the recent games against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.

In the days after the win over Spurs, Nunez appeared to delete all but one of his Liverpool-related posts on Instagram. The decision was seemingly made in response to online abuse directed at the Reds striker.

As a result, there has been speculation that Nunez's long-term future may not lie at Anfield. This is a suggestion that Jurgen Klopp dismissed when he spoke to reporters in his press conference on Friday.

Even though there is very little sign of Nunez's association with Liverpool on Instagram, he is still showing his connection to the club. Bajcetic posted on his profile several photos of himself from the latest session at the AXA Training Centre.

Nunez left a comment on the post which read: "Que jugador," which translated to, "What a player," from Spanish. The comment from Nunez was liked more than 160 times by fellow Instagram users.

It remains to be seen what role Nunez will have to play in Liverpool's final two matches of the season. The Reds travel to face Aston Villa on Monday night, before hosting Wolves the following weekend in Klopp's final match as manager.

Nunez's future is likely to continue to be the subject of debate when the next manager arrives at Anfield. Arne Slot is expected to be the next Liverpool boss and will be tasked with getting the best out of Nunez for what will be his third season as a Reds striker.
