Darwin Nunez tipped for Liverpool exit after 'internal meeting' and Arne Slot criticism
Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they host Newcastle United at Anfield (8:15pm kick-off). Arsenal will also be in action on the same night against third-placed Nottingham Forest.
As it stands, 11 points separates the sides heading into the final games of the season. Last time out, Arne Slot's side claimed a 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium while Arsenal were stunned to a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham.
The win against City was a significant step in their push for the Premier League title which they haven't won since the 2019/20 season.

Darwin Nunez tipped for summer exit
Atletico Madrid 'remain firmly' interested in Darwin Nunez, according to Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes. Head coach Diego Simeone is said to be a huge fan of the Uruguayan since his time at Benfica and views him as the 'ideal' partner for Julian Alvarez ahead of next season.
Besides Atletico, Barcelona are apparently also 'keeping a close eye' on his situation at Anfield for a possible loan. The 25-year-old, who has had an underwhelming season so far, was subject of criticism from Slot following his cameo against Wolves and Aston Villa.
Nike bonuses revealed
Liverpool could be set to receive a big-money send off from Nike if they are successful in the Premier League and Champions League. The club will receive £2m if they lift the Premier League trophy this season, according to the Athletic.
A further £2m will be given if they reach the European final but if they win the competition, Liverpool will receive double that amount (£4m). In their current deal with Nike - which will expire in June - the club receives a fee of £30m per season plus royalties of 20 per cent on all net sales of club merchandise.
Search for new centre-back begins
Liverpool are reportedly working behind the scenes to identify the centre-back they will likely to advance for in the summer. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have already began doing their due diligence on a new potential defender.
"I can confirm that Liverpool are really, really advancing in the process to identify the centre-back they want to sign in the summer," Romano said on his YouTube channel. "Liverpool will go for an important centre-back."
It's said that an internal meeting has taken place between the board, Slot and Richard Hughes. "They all agreed on bringing in an important centre-back in the summer transfer window," Romano added. "When I say important, it could be an important talent, it could be an established player. But my information is that Liverpool want to invest in young players for present and future, so this could be the view."
