Date confirmed for Wanderers' re-arranged trip to Bristol Rovers
Wanderers’ League One fixture against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium has been re-arranged for Tuesday, March 11 (7.45pm).
The game was initially scheduled to be played last month but fell victim to the effects of Storm Darragh.
An official update read: “Ticket sales details for the new date at the Memorial Ground will be released in due course.”
The re-arranged fixture will now take place between the trip to Burton and home game against Stockport, which means Wanderers have seven fixtures pencilled in for March.
Ian Evatt's men ran out 2-0 winners on their last trip to the Memorial Stadium thanks to goals from Aaron Collins and Aaron Morley.
Rovers currently sit 20th in the table and five points above the drop zone heading into the second half of the campaign.
The Gas won 1-0 at Cambridge over the weekend, with Luke Thomas getting the decisive goal during the first half.
It was their first win under Inigo Calderon, who was named the new boss on Boxing Day following Matt Taylor’s departure.
“I’m really happy for the boys, they fully deserved today. They did exactly what we wanted them to do,” Calderon said after the final whistle.
“They played when they felt they could play, and it’s not easy on this pitch, it was not perfect conditions to play, but they understood that it’s the way to have some control.
“We conceded three goals in the last three games, it’s difficult to get points when you concede that many goals. To bring a clean sheet back today is really, really important."
