David Beckham admits Man Utd fans won't like honest Liverpool admission about Jürgen Klopp

David Beckham speaks during the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles.

Jürgen Klopp has managed his final game at Liverpool and the German went out on a high on Sunday, beating Wolves and then producing a memorable speech after the final whistle. The tributes continue to come in, with David Beckham the latest person to be asked for their verdict on the 56-year-old.

Speaking to the SmartLess podcast with Hollywood actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Liverpool fan Will Arnett, Beckham admitted that he’s going to miss the old Liverpool boss. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United winger admitted that he is a big fan of Klopp.

"Even as a Man United fan, I love Jürgen," Beckham gushed. "I love his character, his personality, and what he brings to the sport. I am going to get killed by some of my Man United mates, but I am sad to see him leave. What he’s done for the club and the sport has been incredible."

Liverpool fan Arnett was keen to suggest to Beckham that he should take Klopp to Miami. "My only piece of advice I’ll ever give you when it comes to football, I will say this," the actor said. "You’ve got a good coach over at Inter Miami, but you know what I’m going to say who needs to come in because he’s about to be available. He’s my guy, Jürgen Klopp. I love Jürgen Klopp so much."

Inter Miami, the franchise that Beckham owns, has Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez among its roster at the moment, so it would be a stellar squad that Klopp could hypothetically inherit there. Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are also playing for the MLS outfit.

But Klopp has already outlined that he will be taking a break from the game next. The German will go on holiday and have a rest, spending more time with his family after becoming a grandfather. While Julian Nagelsmann will take charge of the Germany national team during the upcoming European Championship, that job is perhaps the most likely for Klopp to take next.

Liverpool.com says: Klopp moving to MLS would be massive for US soccer but it won't be happening yet, even if it might be a possibility in the future. When he has taken enough of a break to recharge, Klopp will have more than enough offers to consider if he wants to make a move back into coaching again.
