David Moyes new job confirmed as statement released on former Man United boss
Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has been appointed as Everton's new manager, taking over from Sean Dyche.
Dyche, who spent two seasons at Goodison Park, was relieved of his duties earlier this week. Moyes will now return to the club for a second time after leaving West Ham at the end of last season and is tasked with keeping the Toffees, in 16th place in the Premier League table and only one point from the relegation places, in the top flight.
A club statement, confirming the news, reads: "Everton Football Club is delighted to welcome back David Moyes as their new Manager, effective immediately.

"David is widely recognised as one of the Premier League’s most experienced and accomplished managers, having led Everton for more than 500 matches from 2002 to 2013."
"It’s great to be back! I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and didn’t hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club," Moyes said.
"I'm excited to be working with The Friedkin Group and I am looking forward to helping them rebuild the club. "
"Now we need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in getting behind the players in this important season so we can move into our fabulous new stadium as a Premier League team."
The Scot was recruited as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor after his departure in 2013 and spent less than a season in charge at Old Trafford before being sacked and then moved on to Real Sociedad in Spain.
Moyes spent four-and-a-half years with West Ham and won the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League and also secured three top-nine Premier League finishes during his tenure before his departure last summer.
"We are pleased that David is joining us at this pivotal time in Everton’s history," Everton's executive chairman Marc Watts said.
"With over a decade of experience at the club, he is the right leader to propel us through our final season at Goodison Park and into our new stadium.
"We look forward to working with David to build the foundation of a new era for Everton.”
