David and Victoria Beckham lead stars sending support as LA fires rage

David and Victoria Beckham, along with Sir Brian May, are among the celebrities expressing their support for communities ravaged by the ongoing fires in the Los Angeles area. They have commended the firefighters battling a series of deadly blazes that have destroyed numerous structures, including the homes of TV star Paris Hilton and Oscar-winning songwriter Diane Warren, forcing thousands to evacuate.

Gavin And Stacey's James Corden, British singer Suki Waterhouse, and English actress Kate Beckinsale have shared resources on how to seek help for those impacted. Former England captain David Beckham, who spent five years playing for LA Galaxy, referred to Los Angeles as a "special place" for his family.

"I’m heartbroken to wake up to more horrific stories and pictures and I’m thinking of everyone there including many friends and colleagues who are facing these devastating fires", he posted on his Instagram Story. "My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected, their loved ones and sending gratitude to the first responders and emergency services for their courage in such a challenging situation."

His wife Victoria described the devastation and loss caused by the fires as "truly heart-breaking" and said her "thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected".

Celebrities have expressed their gratitude to the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to protect others from the devastating wildfires. The Queen guitarist, Sir Brian, said he was "horrified and saddened" by the destruction caused by the fires, adding: "I feel a pain in my heart. Sending prayers for the safety of all our dear friends in LA. Bri."

Take That singer Mark Owen and his family were among those who had to evacuate their homes as the fires spread due to harsh winds.

His wife, Emma, confirmed their family was safe and thanked those who had sent them "kind words" of support, asking for prayers for those in Los Angeles and the firefighters. Alongside a video of the fires raging on the streets, she wrote on Instagram: "The hurricane-force winds and lack of water have meant the fire has spread catastrophically fast and taken much of our beloved area with it. Schools, homes, shops, and stables are all gone."

"We woke up to helicopters, thick black smoke, winds howling, and the uncertainty that our house would survive."

This Is Us actress Mandy Moore revealed that every home on her street in Altadena, a region in Los Angeles County, had been destroyed and that parts of her property had been lost.

Alongside images of what was left of her property, she posted: "Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It’s not livable but mostly intact."

"We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned. We lost our garage and back house."

"Everyone we know lost everything. Every house on our street is gone. My in laws. My brother and sister in law – six weeks from welcoming their first baby. Our best friends."

Moore expressed feeling "weird survivors’ guilt" but vowed to do "everything" possible to "help rebuild and support" the community. Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor was set to head to Los Angeles on Thursday and shared her thoughts, saying: "Thinking of everyone involved and the emergency services working tirelessly. Praying for this to end."

Boyzone's Ronan Keating sent his "love and hope to everyone in LA", while Irish pop duo Jedward offered: "Our thoughts and prayers are with our LA friends".

Piers Morgan, the broadcaster, expressed being "heartbroken by the horrific fires" impacting Los Angeles, which had affected many of his friends. He continued: "Am obviously concerned about my own house in Beverly Hills, as the fires get worryingly closer, but right now my thoughts, prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with all those who’ve already suffered terrible loss."

He also paid tribute to "all the heroic firefighters working so hard, at great personal risk, to tackle this horrendous disaster."

English actress Patsy Palmer expressed her heartbreak and distress over the devastation she left behind in Los Angeles as she travelled to the UK for work. In an emotional Instagram post, she wrote: "My heart is broken" and "my brain is fried".

She added that while her family was safe, many of her friends had lost their homes, which she described as "extremely traumatic". Alongside a photo of the raging fires, she confessed: "Being here so far away is really, really hard. I’m praying and crying as I write this. I’m helpless here but praying hard."
