Dynamite Dimitri Van den Bergh lifted the roof off Arena MK by rifling a magical nine-darter at Darts World Masters.

The Brilliant Belgian produced his momentous moment in the first leg of the sixth set in his win over Michael van Gerwen. Van den Bergh had just lost the fifth set to fall 3-2 behind when he caused chaotic scenes in the place with genius. The UK Open champion hammered two maximums before a treble 20, treble 15 and double 18 finish saw the jubilant celebrations begin amongst the packed crowd.

Ironically, Van den Bergh had threatened the feat earlier in the game when he hit six perfect darts before faltering. However, when the second opportunity arose, the 30-year-old didn’t waste it as became the first player in 2025 to hit the landmark leg on the TV stage.

However, when the second opportunity arose, the 30-year-old didn’t waste it as became the first player in 2025 to hit the landmark leg on the TV stage. It was that not sensational enough for Van den Bergh, he managed to seal that set and then go onto triumph in the decider.

As van Gerwen lost his way in the seventh, he bust his score and opened the door for Dimi to complete his astonishing and unforgettable night. Speaking afterwards, he said: "What can I say? I’m stoked. I was 3-2 down and I was saying to myself, play your game. I’m at 180. I was like, yes, that’s what you need to do when you’re 3-2 down in sets and you’re starting. So 180, 180, and I went treble, treble, double 18 and I was like, yes, that’s my leg.

“And afterwards, after I played the game, after it was finished and after I won, people were saying, Dimi, you hit a nine darter! And I’m like, yeah!

“I don’t know why, but it was strange. I was focused. I don’t want to be disrespectful, but Christian Kist, for instance, he hit a 9-darter [at Worlds]. It was amazing. I’ve loved it. But you need to win games. That’s where my focus was.

“I felt in the game that there were many opportunities and there were many moments. I think it was written in the sky for once that MVG didn’t have his night."
