0005 – The Premier League has announced that there were nine deal sheets submitted ahead of the transfer deadline, so more moves could yet be announced in the coming hours.

But for now, that’s all from us for transfer deadline day – see you in January!

2340 – Transfers are still being announced, with West Ham signing Spain midfielder Carlos Soler on loan from Paris St Germain.

Liverpool have also loaned out another youngster with 19-year-old winger Kaide Gordon joining Norwich for the 2024-25 campaign.

2325 – Fulham have announced Jay Stansfield has returned to big-spending League One side Birmingham on a permanent deal following his loan spell.

Neither club has announced a fee but media reports earlier today suggest the Blues could have smashed the League One transfer record for the 21-year-old striker, who has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract.

2310 – Back to Scotland and Celtic have announced the capture of 20-year-old Belgian midfielder Arne Engels for what is believed to be a Hoops club-record fee of £11million.

Old Firm rivals Rangers have also signed a midfielder and defender as Albania international midfielder Nedim Bajrami arrived from Italian side Sassuolo on a permanent deal just before the 11pm deadline.

The Light Blues earlier secured a loan deal for 22-year-old Dutchman Neraysho Kasanwirjo from Feyenoord with an option to buy the defender next summer.

2300 – Another move which had been anticipated was Lo Celso returning to Betis from Spurs, and that has now been officially confirmed with the Spanish club understood to be 10 million euros (£8.5m) plus add-ons for the 28-year-old.

2300 – The transfer window is now closed, but we could have some big news yet in the coming hours with speculation still surrounding the likes of Sancho, Sterling and Osimhen.

One player whose immediate future has been confirmed is England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, who has joined Forest on loan from West Ham.

2255 – More signing are being announced as clubs look to beat the deadline, with Wolves adding Brazilian midfielder Andre to their squad, the 23-year-old joining from Fluminense, while Everton defender Mason Holgate, 27, has moved to West Brom on loan.

The 25-year-old Nketiah, who grew up in Deptford, said of his move to Selhurst Park: “It’s amazing to sign for Crystal Palace – I’m excited to get going. Every time I come back to south London, it always puts a smile on my face, so it’s good to be back home.”

2250 – Fans of Palace and Forest did not have to wait up for news on their latest signings though.

Palace have swooped for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on a five-year deal.

Forest, meanwhile, have signed left-sided defender Morato from Benfica, also on a five-year deal

– We are ticking down to the deadline, although past experience tells us that plenty of deals could still be announced after 11pm.

2232 – Some news from France now and Lyon have signed former Manchester United and Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha on loan from Galatasaray.

The 31-year-old Ivory Coast international has joined the French club on a season-long loan from Galatasaray, with Lyon paying three million euros (£2.5m).

2230 – Also in the Championship, Leeds have signed versatile defender Isaac Schmidt from Swiss St Gallen on a four-year deal while Derby have brought in forward Marcus Harness on loan from Ipswich.

– Middlesbrough, who allowed Josh Coburn to leave on loan earlier in the day, have added a new attacking option in the form of 18-year-old Liverpool forward Ben Doak on loan.

2200 – The last hour of the transfer window is upon us and Napoli have followed up the signing of McTominay by bringing in his fellow Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour from Brighton.

The 23-year-old has joined the Italian outfit in a permanent move for undisclosed terms.

2150 – Ryan Fraser is on his way back to Southampton in a permanent deal. The 30-year-old Scotland winger helped Saints win promotion last season while on loan and has now signed a two-year deal at St Mary’s after agreeing to terminate his contract at Newcastle.

2135 – Ugarte’s fee is understood to be 50million euros (£42.2m), with up to 10m euros (£8.4m) in add-ons.

The former Sporting Lisbon player has signed a contract with United until June 2029, with the option to extend for a further year.

– Manchester United have announced the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Paris St Germain.

Not long after the departure of fellow midfielder McTominay to Napoli was confirmed, United have sealed a deal for 23-year-old Uruguay international Ugarte.

The move, which has been in the pipeline for a while now, continues United’s summer rebuild which has seen Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui brought in.

2100 – The two-hour countdown has begun and Arsenal have just confirmed the expected signing of veteran goalkeeper Neto on loan from Bournemouth for the season.

The 35-year-old Brazilian helps cover the gap left by Ramsdale’s move to Southampton.

2045 – One in one out at Brentford as the Bees announce the signing of full-back Jayden Meghoma from Southampton soon after Frank Onyeka completed a loan switch to Bundesliga side Augsburg.

Meghoma has signed an initial four-year deal, with Brentford head coach Thomas Frank saying: “Jayden is an England youth international and one of the biggest left-back talents this country has.”

2030 – Two signings from the Championship have just been announced, with Derby and Blackburn swooping for fresh faces.

The Rams have signed 27-year-old defender Nat Phillips on loan from Liverpool while Rovers have snapped up midfielder Todd Cantwell from Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old, who has been promoted three times out of the Championship with Norwich and Bournemouth, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Ewood Park.

– Heading to Scotland and champions Celtic have signed USA defender Auston Trusty from Sheffield United on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, the completion of the deal being subject to international clearance.

2016 – The deal for McTominay is understood to be worth £25.4m. Could it be the start of a flurry of activity as we head towards the last two and a half hours of the transfer window? Remember, United have been chasing Manuel Ugarte from Paris St Germain.

2006 – One of the moves that had been anticipated to be completed this week has now been confirmed with Napoli announcing the signing of Scott McTominay from Manchester United.

The 27-year-old Scotland international leaves Old Trafford after more than 20 years on United’s books.

– Brighton have announced that 28-year-old midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud has joined Eintracht Frankfurt in a permanent deal.  The two-time Germany international only joined Albion from Borussia Dortmund last summer, making 14 appearances before returning to Germany on loan with Stuttgart.

1932 – Crystal Palace have been relatively quiet in the transfer window but they have made their fourth signing after confirming a deal for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.

The 24-year-old French centre-back, who played under Palace boss Oliver Glasner at the German club, has signed a five-year deal with the Eagles.

1910 – Manchester United have announced the signing of Mali youth international Sekou Kone.

The 18-year-old midfielder joins from Guidars FC in his homeland and, according to United “will initially be supported by the Academy in order to give him time to settle into life in Manchester.”

1900 – Burnley have continued their summer spending spree with the signing of 29-year-old midfielder Josh Laurent from Stoke on a two-year deal. He is the 11th signing by new Clarets boss Scott Parker.

1835 – Everton have boosted their ranks with the addition of Belgium international Orel Mangala from Lyon.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder, who has won 19 caps for his country and previously played for Nottingham Forest, has joined on a season-long loan to become Everton’s seventh signing of the summer.

1810 – Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has joined back up with former colleagues Pepijn Lijnders and Bobby Clark after joining Austrian side RB Salzburg on loan for the campaign.

1805 – Tottenham have yet to reach an agreement with Real Betis for the departure of Giovani Lo Celso, but are confident a transfer can be finalised before Friday’s 11pm deadline, PA understands.

Lo Celso featured 24 times for Spurs last season and yet was made available for a transfer this summer after he entered the final 12 months of his contract.
Betis have made a move for the Argentina playmaker, 28, on deadline day and he is expected to return to the LaLiga outfit for a third spell.

It is a different story for young Spurs midfielder Alfie Devine, who despite plenty of loan interest earlier this summer could now stay at Tottenham for the first half of the season.

1715 – While speculation continues over the futures of players such as Toney, Jadon Sancho and Osimhen, Championship side Burnley have announced the season-long loan signing of Ecuador winger Jeremy Sarmiento from Brighton.

The 22-year-old returns to the second tier after helping Ipswich win promotion to the Premier League last season.

He said: “I’m really excited, it was a big decision, as the next step was really important for me”.

Championship newcomers Portsmouth have signed 21-year-old centre-back Ibane Bowat from Fulham for an undisclosed fee, the Scotland youth international signing an initial three-year deal at Fratton Park.

1545 – Chelsea have announced that Serbia goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has joined Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

Petrovic, 24, moved to Stamford Bridge last summer from New England Revolution and made 31 appearances for the Blues, including starting in the Carabao Cup final.

1515 –  Some news from the Championship as Millwall sign 21-year-old striker Josh Coburn on loan from Middlesbrough for the season.

Lions director of football Steve Gallen said: “A lot of clubs wanted to bring him in over the summer; we’ve been really patient but also really persistent.”

– Aston Villa have confirmed midfielder Enzo Barrenechea has joined Valencia on loan.

The 23-year-old only signed for the Premier League club this summer as part of the deal which saw Douglas Luiz head to Juventus, but he will now travel to Spain to aid his development.

1415 – Blackburn have confirmed the loan signing of Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry.

1410 – Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has confirmed England defender Marc Guehi is staying at the club.

Guehi has been a target for Newcastle all summer but they did not meet Palace’s valuation of the 24-year-old.

Glasner was desperate to keep his captain after losing fellow centre-half Joachim Andersen to Fulham and was delighted to announce that he will not be leaving before the deadline.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Chelsea, Glasner said: “Yes I can confirm that.”

1355 – Ten Hag also dismissed speculation of Jadon Sancho leaving on transfer deadline day.

The England winger has not featured in the matchday squad for the Red Devils’ opening two Premier League matches, with Chelsea rumoured to be interested in his services.

When asked if he expected the 24-year-old to stay at Old Trafford, the Dutchman said: “As I know, yeah.”

“He’s playing in our squad, we’re happy with him. We need a good squad, we need depth in the squad. We have many games until January so the new format of Europe, after the break we will play every game. We need options.”

1345 – Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag believes Scott McTominay’s deal to Napoli and Manuel Ugarte’s transfer to Old Trafford from Paris St Germain should go through by the Friday’s cut-off.

1255 – Southampton have announced the signing of England and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The 26-year-old joins in a deal which could rise to £25million, the PA news agency understands. Ramsdale has signed a four-year deal at St Mary’s.

1235 – Hull have signed Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old was in the Sky Bet Championship last season at Swansea, where he started all 46 league games for the Welsh side.

1215 – It looks like it could be one in and one out at West Ham.

James Ward-Prowse is undergoing a medical at Nottingham Forest ahead of a season-long loan deal from West Ham, PA understands.

The move will free up space in the Hammers’ squad to bring in long-time target Carlos Soler from Paris St Germain on a permanent deal.

1200 – Leeds have announced the signing of Japan midfielder Ao Tanaka from Fortuna Dusseldorf for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around £3.5million.

The 25-year-old featured in all four of Japan’s matches at the 2022 World Cup and has appeared for his country 27 times in total.

Leeds said: “The Japanese international has signed a four-year-deal at Elland Road, becoming the club’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.”

1155 – Aston Villa have signed young defender Yeimar Mosquera from Colombian club Orsomarso.

The 19-year-old has been immediately loaned out to Spanish third-tier outfit Real Union, the club where Villa boss Unai Emery is the majority owner.

1140 – It has been a quiet period in the transfer window as we edge closer towards 11pm deadline.

No news on Raheem Sterling’s potential exit out of Chelsea, with reports suggesting he has been offered to Premier League clubs including London rivals Arsenal.

1040 – Southampton boss Russell Martin believes Aaron Ramsdale will have a huge impact at the club, should he join before the transfer window shuts at 11pm.

The England goalkeeper is expected to sign for the Saints on Friday, with Martin hoping to register the 26-year-old in time for his side’s Premier League trip to Brentford on Saturday.

“I think it will be massive,” Martin said during his pre-match press conference. “Some of the guys will be surprised that he is coming, but I think it is big. I think it will give everyone a lift.

“It will be a big call if we get Aaron on time for tomorrow’s game, so I feel for Alex [McCarthy, Saints goalkeeper]. It is a really tough part of football.”

1030 – Everton have confirmed the departure of striker Neal Maupay to Marseille.

The Ligue 1 side have an obligation to buy the striker at the end of the season-long loan.

1015 – Another England goalkeeper on the move is Sam Johnstone, who has completed a permanent transfer to Wolves from Crystal Palace.

The 31-year-old made 23 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles last season, but has not featured since March 9.

He will battle with Jose Sa for the number one shirt after signing a four-deal contract at Molineux.

0950 – Brentford have accepted a £40million offer from Al-Ahli for forward Ivan Toney, PA understands.

Toney has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, but is now set for a medical ahead of completing a move to the Saudi Pro League outfit.

0940 – Liverpool boss Arne Slot does not envisage any more business before the close of play.

0925 – One outgoing at Rangers after winger Scott Wright joined Sky Bet League One outfit Birmingham.

The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

0915 – Everton have received no new offers for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, manager Sean Dyche has confirmed.

Calvert-Lewin, who joined Everton from Sheffield United in 2016, is in the final year of his contract and has so far failed to reach agreement with the Merseyside club over fresh terms.

Newcastle failed to match Everton’s asking price for the 27-year-old after showing interest earlier this summer, but the Goodison hierarchy are braced for a possible late bid for the England striker.

0900 – Arsenal continue to weigh up late bids for Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman or Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling.

The Independent reports Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is on the hunt for an “explosive” player to expand the team’s attacking options. Top target Nico Williams has opted to stay in Spain.

Arteta reportedly has a strong relationship with Sterling stemming from their time at Manchester City, but has reservations about his high weekly salary, reported to be £325,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.

0825 – Newcastle have pulled out of negotiations to recruit England defender Marc Guehi as Crystal Palace refuse to budge on the £70million fee.

The Telegraph reports that while the Magpies have not ruled out a last-minute signing, it looks likely they could keep quiet until January.

Newcastle had looked confident of signing Guehi throughout the summer, but Palace refused to lower their asking price during several rounds of negotiations. The deal is not dead, though it looks increasingly unlikely it will be completed before Friday night’s cut-off.

0805 – Time is running out for England and Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who could be left in limbo as the transfer deadline looms, the Daily Mirror reports.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli held discussions with Brentford over a potential deal, but no offer has been made by a Premier League club despite early interest.

This leaves Toney in a race against time as the British transfer window closes on Friday night. Alternatively, a move to Al Ahli would have to take place before the Middle Eastern transfer window slams shut on Monday.

0745 – The first bit of movement of the day comes from the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on a season-long loan deal, the PA news agency understands.

The Gunners’ move for the 35-year-old Cherries captain is a straight switch with no obligation or option to buy.

Neto’s arrival in north London will pave the way for England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to complete a permanent move to Southampton.

The summer transfer window closes this evening at 11pm for Premier League, EFL clubs and teams in Scotland.

Plenty of deals are in the pipeline, with Bournemouth captain Neto in talks to join Arsenal on loan as a possible replacement for England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who is set to join Southampton on a permanent deal.

Chelsea have been linked with a last-gasp move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Brentford’s Ivan Toney in their bid to sign a new striker.
