'To get this deal' - Unai Emery sends Arsenal clear transfer message over Ollie Watkins move
Unai Emery has responded to Aston Villa exit talk surrounding Jhon Duran and Ollie Watkins. The latter featured in the 4-2 Champions League victory against Celtic and though Morgan Rogers' hat-trick stole the headlines, Watkins grabbed a goal and two assists while also missing a penalty.
Watkins was the subject of a January bid from Arsenal earlier in the week and though Villa rejected it, he was in Emery's starting XI just hours after the news broke. Having already set up Rogers once, Watkins put his side back in front later in the game and appeared to emphatically tap the Villa badge after scoring.
Duran meanwhile, remained an unused substitute amid significant transfer interest from Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabai. During the game, further updates on his future arrived with it revealed a full agreement had been reached for his arrival in the Middle East and a medical scheduled to take place in London.

Understandably, Emery was asked about both players with his response on one striker in comparison to the other perhaps telling. On Duran, he told TNT Sport: "Tomorrow or Friday we can speak about transfers, or maybe next week.
"Of course we are working, the club is working. As well, we are trying to compete in the transfer window because we need some players. And of course some can leave, but it is not time to speak about this." On Watkins, he added: "I know you want to ask, I repeat what I told you: today is not the day."
Further questions about Watkins arrived in his press conference after the game with the Villa boss able to provide a detailed update which saw him not exactly rule out a move. "I don’t want [to sell]," he admitted. "It is good news to have offers from other clubs.
"We want to keep our sporting objective through the players we have in the squad. Every player can be in the market in case it is good for the player and the club.
"To get this deal we are going to be demanding. Watkins is our striker." As far as Arteta is concerned, he would not discuss any move for Watkins from his side after the Girona game.
"I cannot talk about any of that,' said Arteta. "I have an amazing club behind me."
The PA news agency has reported that Villa rejected the bid and are unhappy with Arsenal's timing coming so late in the transfer window.
