Derby County face another demanding Championship assignment this weekend as they welcome promotion-chasing Sheffield United to Pride Park.

After losing to Cardiff City at the weekend, Paul Warne's side are currently in the relegation zone and sit two points from safety after Portsmouth's defeat to Millwall last night.

It doesn't get much easier for Derby with United looming at the weekend with Chris Wilder's side having strengthened their attack significantly in this month having signed Ben Brereton Diaz on loan from Southampton and forked out a cool £13m for Tom Cannon from Leicester City.

While David Ozoh and Ryan Nyambe have made their long-awaited return from injuries, Derby do have fresh problems to contend with. Here's the latest on the injury front in the run up to the clash with United.

Corey Blackett-Taylor

The winger looks certain to be out of the clash against the Blades after appearing to damage his hamstring in the defeat to Cardiff last weekend.

The winger had been patiently biding his time for a start, but had to be replaced in the second half. Head coach Paul Warne is expected to give a further update on his injury tomorrow.

Callum Elder

The left-back is facing a race against time to prove his fitness for the clash against the Blades after coming off in the second half of the defeat to Cardiff. The former Hull City full-back is considered a doubt.

Kane Wilson

The right-back picked up a hamstring injury in the defeat at home to Sunderland and he missed the clash against Cardiff at the weekend. He was sent for a scan on his injury and will be out of the game at the weekend.

Dajaune Brown

The striker added to the list of woes after damaging his hamstring after coming on as a second-half substitute against Sunderland. Is in the same boat as Wilson in that he has been sent for a scan. Will be out.

Nat Phillips

The on loan Liverpool defender had to come off in the FA Cup defeat to Leyton Orient due to a problem with his calf. Missed the last three games and faces a race against time to be involved at the weekend.

Curtis Nelson

The centre-back is out for the season after damaging his ACL in what is a huge blow to Derby given he is one of their most reliable performers.
